Prisoner of Light

I feel trapped in this light.

I beg you, darkness, help me tonight.

I see a world full of blight.

Husks chasing earthly delights.

My thoughts are not my own.

My voice is so loud, yet unheard.

My soul yearns for freedom.

Yet hope was a prison.

Am I the chosen? Or is this torture?

Lines of light hold me tight.

Waves of yore drown me at your door.

I once loved calling your name.

Now it means nothing.

You are nothing.

Happily away, I die every day.

I am the prisoner of light.
